After covid the RKA members were eager to get back to racing and socializing, round 1 at the Geelong track would kick off the 2022 season.

Friday was dry but overcast for practice as everyone blew the cobwebs out. Come Sat and quali was done in slippery conditions although not wet, heat 1 completed by all in the same.

Sunday brought the challenge as the anticipated weather looming was about to unload so choice of tyre became very much a part of the equation.

All classes got through the 2nd and pre final without to much hassle, the final however the weather unleashed , some like clubman light were caught mid race with slicks. This provided spectators with a great display of ol skool wet weather driving from Reif Corbett. From then on the day was declared wet and round 1 was completed in a timely manner and the members on their diff ways.
